Losing unwanted pockets of fat can leave behind loose skin, and many cosmetic enhancement treatments only target the fat without considering the loose or sagging skin. At Trilogy Medical & Aesthetics, we treat the whole person, not just the body part. Our skin tightening treatments are the perfect accompaniment to body sculpting.
CoolSculpting and vShape Ultra—a One-Two Punch
The CoolSculpting breakthrough happened when scientists discovered fat cells freeze at a higher temperature than surrounding tissues. Target stubborn fat cells you’ve worked hard to reduce with precisely controlled cooling to crystallize fat cells, resulting in cell death while leaving surrounding tissues unharmed. Your body filters the dead cells out through the normal metabolic process. Safe, pain-free, non-surgical, and non-invasive, CoolSculpting is a revolutionary way to sculpt body contours the way you desire. The best part is, those fat cells are gone. For good.
But what about the skin of the treatment area? A beautifully contoured body with lax, sagging skin doesn’t exactly inspire patients to love their results. That’s where vShape Ultra skin tightening comes in. With gentle ultrasound technology combined with advanced radiofrequency energy, vShape Ultra penetrates deep into the skin’s layers to stimulate water molecule movement and contract collagen, the skin’s most prolific support system. Contour your body and tighten your skin with confidence with this powerful one-two punch.
Am I a Good Candidate?
CoolSculpting is ideal for patients with pockets of unwanted fat, but it is not an approved method of weight loss or a treatment for obesity. Good candidates for CoolSculpting are typically within 30 pounds of their ideal weight and have a desire to reshape their silhouette. vShape Ultra patients are ideally looking for smoother, tighter skin rather than a weight loss solution.
Coolsculpting & vShape Ultra Consultations Available
What Are Treatments Like?
Treatment times depend on the size and number of areas being treated, but CoolSculpting and vShape Ultra are both relatively quick, around 30 minutes each. Patients are made comfortable and the CoolSculpting handpiece is affixed to the treatment area. Cooling temperatures are delivered while patients read, check email, or even nap. Numbness and cold are the most commonly reported sensations while CoolSculpting freezes away the fat.
Patients often liken vShape Ultra skin tightening to a warm stone massage. Some also experience mild ringing in the ears as the handpiece is moved over the treatment area. Most treatments last 30 minutes and you’re back to your busy schedule with no downtime.
When Can I See Results?
Improvements from CoolSculpting begin approximately 6 weeks following treatment and continue for 6 months as the fat cells are filtered out. vShape Ultra results are visible within 1-2 weeks and continually improve over 3-6 months as collagen production increases. Skin is smoother, more toned, and your body will be shapelier than ever before. Many patients are happy with 1-2 CoolSculpting treatments, and 3-5 vShape Ultra sessions to fully realize complete contour and tightening.
